“What are you thinking about, William?”

There was a long silence before Flower turned to look at him. “No, I haven’t, but then it seems like such a strange thing to happen. Bill and I were in love from the beginning.” She smiled. “I still remember what it was like when the two of us first met.”

Somehow William managed to stop himself from shuddering. “Don’t you ever think about what it might have been like if someone else had created you?” He knew asking too many questions was going to make things difficult between the two of them, but he couldn’t stop himself. Learning more about the cartoons and their cartoonists was far too important. “What if I had?”
