still not sure about this. i can't decide whether the reason i don't like it is because i don't like the reader or because i just can't get along w/ murakami's type of writing anymore. somehow his writing just feel over the top. to think that i used to really like his stories...

6 unglaublich gut geschriebene Kurzgeschichten.

I liked this collection but not in any terribly urgent or exciting way. On the other hand, I do feel that I did like I often do and read the stories quickly. I have a definite feeling that if I spent more time thinking about them I might find them more valuable.

Beautiful, if somewhat strange stories. As a whole they convey a sense of well-being despite the natural order of chaos. I'll miss this as my bedtime story book :)

Some stories were better than others but the last two (Junpei's story and the one about "Mr Frog") would have scored 6 stars for me. One of the few books I've read in one sitting.

Favourites so far are "Honey Pie" and "All God's Children Can Dance". Read "Super-Frog Saves Tokyo" ages ago, so I might have forgotten some. Also, my copy is apparently missing one of the stories :(Update: Finally got an actual copy, yay! Loved the story I had not read before, and the one that was ...

Not the best collection of Murakami, one or two stories seem a bit "mainstream". I am so used to his surrealist world that when I read story that is just, well, a very-ordinary topic it seems a bit below his standard. BUT, doesn't mean that this short story collection is bad. No, no, Murakami never ...
