The first time I came to Deadwood, I got shot in the ass.—Violet Parker

Irony is having a big ol’ fiesta and Violet Parker is the piñata. Little girls are vanishing from Deadwood, South Dakota, and Violet’s daughter could be next. Short on time and long on worry, she’s desperate to find the monster behind the abductions. But with her jerkoff co-worker trying to get her fired, a secret admirer sending creepy love poems, and a sexy-as-hell stranger hiding skeletons in his closet, Violet just might end up as one of Deadwood’s dearly departed.

4.0 Nearly Departed in Deadwood (Deadwood Mystery, #1)
This was a fun and entertaining haunted house mystery. The main character, Violet Parker, is sassy and fun. There was such a variety of characters to love, hate, and laugh at in this book that it made reading the story that much more enjoyable.

This is going on my cozy-mystery shelf, even though it really doesn't belong there, but I'm not sure where else this genre jumping book (and series) should go. What I do know is that this book is a really fun read! Humour, a good mystery, lots of creepy, and oh wow the sexual chemistry going on! T...

This book really didn't stand out to me the way I expected it to. It read like a traditional cozy mystery. Cozy lovers I am sure will love it.
