How can I start out this review in the most concise way possible, this book sucked! And it was so disappointing to watch it's demise because I really loved the idea. The plot is a good one and yet it was completely and utterly destroyed. The plot starts with Zara whose stepfather just died, in he...
Welcome to the world of pixies. Did I say “pixies”? This is my first experience with pixies and I was hesitating at first whether to read about them since this opens up a new world to me but I think I just might like this new experience. When I first opened up the book, I was shocked to learn that ...
Read more of my reviews at A Bookish CompulsionI picked up this book on sale for my e-reader in one of my mag-pie attempts to have something for my nieces to read if the occasion called for it. It was a teen book that was popular, so I figured they might like it. When going through my books for a ...
It was a little slow to get going, but the story picked up and became interesting. I find the pixies a little vampire-like, but then again I don't know a lot about the fae. I find Zara a bit Mary-Sue-ish, but I can get over it. She isn't nearly as bad as Elena from Vampire Diaries.

Truly, I found it extremely awesome. I remember I liked the start. Then I remember...

Just to make this clear, whoever designed this cover needs to be slapped. It's one of the worst cover's I've ever seen and it really c...
When I started reading this book, I was impressed. The story begins with main character Zara travelling to stay with her grandmother in a small Maine village. Her stepfather has just passed away and she is so overcome with grief she has become numb. I really enjoyed the first part of the book, where...

This book was better than most YA books I have been reading lately. I actually connected with the characters better and cared what happened to them. I think part of it is my bias towards shifter characters, but maybe it's just better story telling as well. It still isn't perfect and I felt parts of ...
