Neesha Meminger was born in Punjab, India, grew up in Toronto, Canada, and now lives in New York City with her family. She holds an undergraduate degree in film and media, and an MFA in Creative Writing. In its debut year, Neesha's first novel, SHINE, COCONUT MOON, was listed on the Smithsonian's Notable Books for Children list and made the New York Public Library's "Stuff for the Teen Age - Top 100 Books." SHINE, COCONUT MOON was also nominated for the American Library Association's Best Books for Young Adults and the online CYBILS award. JAZZ IN LOVE, Neesha's second novel for young adults, was also nominated for a CYBILS award and was selected for Bookslut's Recommended Summer Reads list. Solid YA with occasional parts where I felt the author was talking to me instead of me listing to the character. Book design note: whereas the front cover is decent, the whole dustjacket—front and back together—is a great design.
