I rate this just a 3 star mainly due to a poor finish but I have to say I quite enjoyed the ride up to that point. No need to add a synopsis cause you can easily find that just a bit above. Not sure what to shelf it as though, I do need to work on my shelves here anyway but perhaps 'Thriller' is good...

"Everyone has a Cordova story, whether they like it or not." "Whatever your opinion of Cordova, however obsessed with his work or indifferent-he's there to react against. He's a crevice, a black hole, an unspecified danger, a relentless outbreak of the unknown in our overexposed world. He's underg...

Film directors Stanislas Cordova reminds me of so far: Robert Rodriguez, Samuel Fuller, Dario Argento, Tod Browning, Mario Bava, Roger CormanThis book was so good, until the last quarter. Then my mind started wandering. I kept losing track of the plot. The twist I kept thinking about (Cordova set...

The last thing I want to do is spoil anyone so please excuse any vagueness or odd hand waving. Hopefully those who have read the book will know what I'm getting at.Like any good mystery we start off with a bunch of intriguing questions - was Ashley's death really a suicide? Who is this reclusive Cor...

Night Film opens with one hell of a prologue - easily the best I have ever come across. Those opening pages exude such authentic creepiness that it becomes impossible to not keep turning the pages, to not want to know more about the enigma of the reclusive legendary Hollywood director, Stanislas Cor...

Let me start by saying that the audiobook was very well done. I loved listening to narrator, Jake Weber. He is the husband from the TV show Medium. I hope he narrates more books in the future. I found his voice very soothing. That being said, Night Film ended up being a disappointment for me. It...

This had potential with a great storyline and character. However, it just went on too long and was too pretentious with all its talk of film and philosophical musings about life, etc.

I thought I'd be disappointed by this, because it began to end pathetically. It was beginning to lose its magical hold on me, but then Marisha did something so wonderful and "sovereign, deadly, perfect" to counter a frail decline.I really do not want to give any tidbits of this book away. It's long ...

Really, loved this book.At times it reminded me of The Club Dumas, and some other times I thought I was watching a Kubrick movie (yes, it's that good).I love the way the author told the story and included newspaper articles, website pages and pictures in the novel, which at times I thought were a bi...
