With this novel Tryon was still in the process of correcting the strange curve his career had taken - 'Night of the Moonbow' wasn't bad, but he hadn't quite got 'it' back yet. I haven't read his '90 and '91 historical romances, and seeing as how they're two parts of a trilogy that'll never be finish...
