Somehow Terry Pratchett seems to go down particularly well when I'm not feeling at my best. I've read several that I've enjoyed but not been particularly grabbed by. In comparison, the times that I've read one of his books while sick or exhausted, I have liked them a whole lot more.A few Christmases...
even with nougat, you can have a perfect moment
my goodness. easily the best watch book, and perhaps my joint favourite discworld book generally (given that thief of time has been one of my all-time favourite books since i was eleven, this is High Praise). "there is no more time, even for cake. for you the cake is over. you have reached the end...

The best book in the whole Discworld series. It's both hillarious and serious at the same time. And the sheer awesomeness of Pratchett's reflections on how a society functions is staggering. Definitely worth reading.

As I'm rapidly approaching the end of the Discworld books, I am more and more impressed with Pratchett's ability. Within the series there are several story arcs that can be read separately but even the most stand-alone of the novels, like 'Small Gods' or 'Pyramids', impacts the rest of the series. '...

It's nice meeting the Night Watch people again. It was a bit confusing at the beginning with the whole going back in time thing, but afterward it's pretty much straightforward. I did like Sam Vimes from Guard!Guard! and he hasn't lost his charm here. Pratchett did a very good job representing the yo...
