Dreams of the Oregon Coast: A Michael Melville hangout
This is one of the books of his i had the pleasure of reading before it was made into a movie. The idea in this story that love, recovering from a broken heart, finding love again and loss at an older age is one of things that inspired me to become a writer. I wish there was more stories of his like...

No way! JoBeth Williams reads this! She's a good reader.Anyway, I never got all that invested in this story. Sparks is pretty hit or miss with me. Even so, the end made me tear-up, moreso for the relationship between Amanda and her brothers than Adriane's relationship with Paul.I'm not sure why it ke...

I have a teenaged daughter who has spent the last year devouring every Nicholas Sparks novel she can get her hands on, and has been begging me to give him a chance. Since I recall having been interested in seeing the movie, I decided to start with this one. I found Mr. Sparks to be easy to read, a...

GAAAH, that was bad. I'm so mad at this book. How could people think that's a romance. It was horrible what happened in this book! I refuse to read any more books by this author. I like my romance to take me out of real life--not make me want to slit my wrists.

It's a good easy read book but i just can't seem to relate much at it. The story seems to go so fast. The Nicholas Sparks magic was there but i'm not so gaga about it unlike his other novels. Nothing more to say. :)

Bland and cheaply manipulative.(When one finds oneself on a twelve hour train ride from Moscow to St. Petersburg with a broken kindle, one must needs make do.)

I like the other Sparks books better. This was an easy read, but not much substance

My second Sparks venture. I don't really know what to say about this. I'm turning into a Sparks fan, I can feel it already! This was a nice, short, page-turner - I completed it in around 4 hours. I liked the concept of how the story was told - the 'flashback' retelling was a nice touch to the story....

I wonder if Sparks is as annoying in real life as his books are. What was the point of this book's ending? Besides being a calculated (manipulative) way to get the readers to reach for their hankies? Ick.

Just a bare-bones list of what I SHOULD/COULD have done with the 2 hours it took me read this sorry excuse for a book:1. Cleaned my bathroom2. Painted my daughter's bedroom BEFORE more paint gets spilled3. Cooked AND ate a romantic dinner with my husband, which would be much better for my marriag...
