Keleios was a child when her mother, Elwine the Gentle, was slain by the malevolent witch Harque. Now Keleios's prayers of avenging her death have finally been answered: she has been granted powers beyond anything she has ever known. But she has also acquired something else--the demonmark. As magical as it is terrifying, the demonmark can open the door to undreamed possibilities. It can also expose her soul to the darkest and most forbidden forces of sorcery.
In an epic battle of good versus evil, the enchanted swords and shapeshifting dragons, of unquenchable hatred and unlikely love, Keleios must battle her own demons before she can earn the most important power of all--the power to forgive.

I did not finish Hamiltons debut. It became too confusing with all those different kinds of witches, sorcerers, wizards, phantoms, spells, flashes, visions, fires, dreams, flashbacks, elves and what not. Maybe it gets better later. I am not patient enough.
Quite good. Written before she went off the rails.
