9 Lives, Cat's Eyes is Gordon Evan's ninth published book of poetry. Like previous iterations, the poetry deals with the author's take on the various deeper meanings and true purpose in life. In this repository of poetry, I hope you again gain something valuable from the book after reading it. Whether it be inspiration of some sort or just insight into how another traveler of this shared life is seeing and taking it all in, I honestly hope you gain something of value from this work. I, Gordon Evans, was well known in my senior class in high-school for having the worst handwriting. I have a fear of being killed, but on a positive note, much joy comes each morning when I awake. I've spent four years in the Navy as a ship serviceman, have frequented many placed, and believe myself to be quite cultured. I went to Edison Community College in South Florida on the G.I. Bill and the University of South Florida. I thoroughly loved playing the drums in college in a new wave band, entitled, The Puns. An ex-boat captain of the Teresa Ana on the Chesapeake Bay, I like being on the water. It helps me reflect on past experiences and collect my thoughts, which enable me to focus better on writing more effective poetry. I am currently attending Rappahannock Community College and have written over 2,600 poems now and it is my belief and hope that my poetry will reach the reader and be insightful as to how my mind operates and I really hope sincerely, that it will be as exciting for the lover of poetry to read as it was for me to write.
