Great book! Excellent storyline and a uniquely interesting world. Zelazny's writing was one of its few flaws, at times it felt unnatural and very amateur. I wonder if this was his first book? It certainly seemed like it at times. I also wish he had had a better editor, and its not the first time i h...

I started rereading this because of a pretty negative review at tor.com. And then I realized that rereading the whole series would get me mega-karma in a reading challenge at Goodreads.com, so I'm off...I've always loved the Amber novels, and I've read this more than a few times. A classic fantasy novel I have been planning to read for ages. I really liked the choice to start with a main character who does not remember who he is and it was exciting to see him figuring it out. I still do not completely understand what exactly amber is but I will continue with the series. I lo...

My perception of this book is as a modern classic of the fantasy genre. It is the first in a 10 book series dubbed the Chronicles of Amber. This is the start of Corwin’s story. He wakes up in hospital with amnesia and some rather strange abilities. It is clear from the beginning that he is incred...

The only thing this book makes me think of is a Lisa Frank baby snow leopard. Also, there is a fart joke in chapter six. Take out the sex and this would probably be a fun book for an eight-year-old boy.

Starts off brilliantly with the main character waking up in hospital suffering from loss of memory and trying to figger out what's going on. But slowly the story is getting more and more general, with only little involvement. Towards thye end it's getting better again. It is probably a bit outdated ...

A: Nine Princes in AmberQ: The title of what popular Roger Zelazny novel would also make an excellent name for a sci-fi/fantasy-themed porno?A: The judges will accept that as well, yes.Q: But I was going to say A Night in Lonesome October!
