In fairness, this is probably close to a 3.5 star review, because I found myself getting bored a few times throughout, and generally was not nearly as captivated as I would need to be for a perfect 4 star review. That said, with a short story collection I prefer to rate according to my favorite shor...

I have been reading lots of short stories this past week, maybe because I'm supposed to be writing my dissertation and reading short things makes me feel less guilty - I'll just read one and get back to it, I'll think. Of course this is just a way to deceive myself, but I'll be voluntarily deceived ...

Am parcurs cartea pe etape, fiindca povestirile aveau viata lor proprie si nu prea mergeau citite una dupa alta. Fantastic. There were a few bits that required me to Google who or what certain people or things mentioned were.

Salinger just gets better and better with every rereading. I only wish he wrote some plays.

Alright, well. That was umm... I don't know what that was. I needed to read a non-Goodreads friend recommended book for a challenge, and this is what I got saddled with. I've never read any Salinger, and honestly, this doesn't have me rushing out to change that fact. Thankfully, it was short. I star...

I wish J.D. had written another novel or two. None of his short stories do it for me like Catcher. But there are at least four in this collection that I really like, and A Perfect Day for Bannanafish is just perfect. Also I read this on an endless day of traveling while backpacking, so maybe I wasn´t...

An outstanding book I can read over and over again. I love that a good portion of the stories is happening in the head of the reader rather than on the pages. My favourite stories are Esmé, The Laughing Man, A Perfect day for bananafish and Down at the Dinghy (and depending on my mood Teddy), oh and...
