The set upThe prologue opens with two young women clearly in trouble one evening. It was obvious something horrible happened to at least one of them but the scene then shifts to a point in the future. Detective Constable Lacey Flint is leaving the home of an assault victim when she finds a woman who...

Normally, I remain skeptical when the killer targets a policeman, or the cop's personal history or family intervene into the plot. In this case, however, Bolton pulls it off. The events in Lacy's past become a way not just to link her with the killer, but also help to define who she is for the reade...

Jack the Ripper is an enduring mystery that has baffled and bemused people for over a century. Many novelists and screen writers have attempted to incorporate Jack into the telling of a tale but I don't think I've ever seen it done in such a discerning way as Ms Bolton has achieved here. Meet Lacey ...

Initially Lacey isn't allowed to help with the investigation as she is only considered a witness. However, after the second murder and the apparent si...

Read my full review:http://bit.ly/14CcgpZMy rating: 4.5 StarsMy opinion: The first in a new series for author, SJ Bolton. While great, it didn't have that tightness in writing that I saw in her most recent release, Dead Scared (Lacey Flint #2), which I was given the pleasure to review. What Ms. Bolt...

What an absolutely fantastic read. One of my favourite things about reading is discovering a new author, or at least new to me. The cover was what drew me to this book (yes, I judge books by their cover) and the blurb inside. I enjoy reading about true crime and I do have a mild fascination with Jac...

This is the first book I have read by S J Bolton and definitely won't be the last. There were times that I just couldn't put it down and was aggrieved that work and sleep got on the way of 'one more chapter' . On my way to download more.
