I have always been a fan of Stephani Hecht's story; so I might be biased. BUT, I have to say that this is probably one of my favorites of hers. Simply because it has "heart". I have been accustomed to her urban fantasy stories (Drone Vampires, Lost-Shifters) ... the other contemporary series of hers...
