A funny nonsense poem (I would expect no less from Lear). Lear died before he finished it, so Ogden Nash filled in the blanks. It's also from the 1960s, and Burkert's introduction laments that the Blue Whale might soon be extinct. It's still an endangered species, but it's not extinct yet.

Officially my last book of 2010. I wanted the last book of the year to be something cheery, so I made a special effort to finish this on New Year's Eve.
Good anthology - lots of classic authors; including a great HP Lovecraft story! (Now that guy has a way with exclamation points!)
I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of poetry in general, but I love me some light verse. Lear is a master.
