Disappointing. Whereas book one was a neatly-plotted confection, book two suffers from a lack of any but the most superficial plot, and was—tragically— executed as a tedious series of heartfelt conversations.
At the beginning of the novel I was expecting something much more angsty, though, as is with the first book, it never really worries you all too much because the whole story is too bloody happy to sudden take a turn for an angst-fest. 3.5 starsI liked this one a bit more than I liked the first one. In this story we get everything from the perspective of Spade instead of Ace. It made for an interesting read and helped readers to see how much Spade has matured while being with Ace.
A lovely visit with two of my favorite characters.
