This is the best, the most carefully written, of all Quindlen's books I've read so far.
There are some authors I'm interested in reading, but instead of reading a variety of their books, I end up rereading the same book repeatedly. One True Thing is one of those books for me. I keep thinking I'm going to read Black and Blue or Object Lessons, but read this instead. Maybe I should ad...
Waaaay too depressing, and I have a fairly high tolerance for depressing.
You don't have to have nursed your mother during her dying to be moved by this book. Quindlen is great at creating believable people, and although it is a story sure to sadden many, it isn't a downer at all.
