I'm not sure what to say about this book. It kept me interested, even if somewhat depressed - this certainly falls in the "noir" category. Definitely worth reading, but I would not re-read it (and I tend to be a re-reader of books I really like). I was not so sure about the ending - no spoilers h...

I once dreamed that my sister and I went to see my old university lecturer. He offered us to take two books from his collection, and I distinctly remember that one of the books I took was this novel. It is extremely effective in portraying the desperation in their day to day lives and shows how even the most gruesome of deeds can become just another yucky job if the pay is good enough. It's so violent th...

Creepy, realistic, and black, black, black. Don't read this if you're squeamish about gore. I'd probably say it reads most like A Simple Plan, and it might well appeal to fans of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
