I wanted to like this book but I couldn't get through page 20. For me, the narration style was strange and it just didn't engage me. Holly grated each and every one of my last nerves in those short pages and I knew that I better put the book aside lest I end up torching it.

If you like someone, even if you are griefing, you answer the phone. I dislike the character and find it quite annoying. I should have read more on the writer as she was too young to write a book that is emotionally mature enough for my taste.

This book wasn't really what I expected, but it was cute. And definitely not like the movie at all.

I read this book because i needd something light after handing in 7,000 words worth of essays. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't want to read it again. This was a tear-jerker. I actually think I liked the movie a little bit more than the book. In the movie, she reads all of the letters outloud, in the book, sometimes all you get is the P.S. part and they are very short letters.

The book in one sentence: Young widow Holly relearns to love life and heal after the devastating death of husband Gerry, through a year's worth of monthly directives from her dead husband. Who would you recommend it to: Those who like chick lit, though if you're married or have a significant other, ...

This is definitely a book which everyone should read. Losing a person is difficult and this book shows the journey to its finest detail. Beautifully written.

Do not be scared away by the cover of this one. Despite classifying it as 'chick-lit', it's definitely not your usual chick-lit, as there's a lot more depth to it than one would usually expect from chick-lit. It's beautiful and devastating. I'd recommend it to everybody, but make sure you have tissu...
