Hmmm, short stories are often difficult to pull off for one of three reasons. Either the plot is too complex, the plot is entirely TOO SIMPLE, or the writer gets carried away and ends up with half of a full length novel instead of a short story. I must say that the first description best fits this.....
Unfortunately, this story had everything I disliked about book 1 at some point throughout, which was a bit disappointing. It also calls a few more stereotypes into play. Same type of scenario applies. Young kid, barely legal, is taken in by Domz.com. Fortunately, it does change his life for the ...
I was a bit torn with this one. On one hand, I enjoyed most of it. On the other, I was a bit disappointed. I loved the idea. Master P comes across Trick "tricking" and decides to save him and offer him a chance at a better life. Unfortunately, things become a bit far fetched at this point. Mas...
HIS NAME WAS HARLEY MANFIELD... Ok, yeah, I might have a crush on an author, I admit it. Everything he writes is just MUSIC TO MY EARS! You know when you hear a song on the radio and you think 'wow, this seems to be for me'? Yeah, I have the same feeling every time I read a book written by Tom. And ...
I read a story here and there since this was a pretty big anthology. And like all anthologies, some stories are good, some great, and some are just bad. Individual stars under the spoiler tag...Never Too Late by Chris Quinton - 4 stars. I liked this story. Likeable characters and a May/December roma...
*squints. Is that a woman thrown into the mix? *sigh. Maybe I'll try this one day... (If I were a book character, this would have been followed by: she said dubiously.)
Really badly paced. Promising blurb but the writing didn't hold up. Also, there were so many other characters and couples. Apparently, even though this is listed as the first in this series, the other characters are from a previous series with a different collection title. Confusing for someone who ...
Perhaps just a bit too involved, and too many characters for a novella to gain an immediate understanding or relationship with the characters. I felt like a landed in the middle of a series that started way back when. It's fast moving, lots of action, some sexy m/m moments and rather entertaining. I...
While this was an enjoyable read, although the mystery/murder plot was kinda weak. I did feel that there were so many characters introduced and at a point it was getting a little confusing. It wasn't until after I finished and was looking at more books by this author that I realized that all of th...
Ehh...parts of it seemed oddly anachronistic at times, but it was a pretty cute read. Not much in terms of plot, but it was a nice little bit of fluff.
