This is a sweet book that I read in Eng 310. This also has a movie that kids would love. This would be a fun read aloud and to draw bears or introduce the topic of bears. I would use this in a 2nd or 3rd grade classroom. This would be an easy way to access previous knowledge in children who may have...

I first fell in love with Paddington in 1977, but he hasn't held up well for me. Neither of the kids has ever gone for him, and recent efforts on a re-read went nowhere. This was okay, but it benefited from nostalgia points. Well, that, and filling in the Peruvian backstory. Library copy

How have I overlooked this fabulous book? Paddington is Amelia Bedelia…ET…Ramona…a naïve little teddy bear thrust into the scary big world. Fabulous.

I read the Paddington books when I was a kid in the 70's and I remember hearing my mom at night in the next room, giggling while she read them. I'm re-reading them now with my son and I had forgotten just how funny they are. It's rare for me that a book makes me laugh out loud, but these do. We have...
