This book truly scared me. It wasn't as scary as the Shining, it didn't have me running as fast as I could up my stairs because I thought I heard a ball bouncing. I read this book a long time ago and it really accomplished the horror novel mission of scaring the shit out of me. I don't have a great recollection of it beyond it scaring the crap out of 15 year old me and the general sense that I liked it.
