This is a very cute book. Pete is wearing his favorite shirt, that has four "groovy" buttons. Pete doesn't cry when he looses a button, he just keeps on singing his song. This book has some repetition in it so the children can predict what the next page is going to say. Have the students sing along ...

The authors of this book do an excellent job with repetitious words.  That makes Pete the Cat books great books to use for choral reading!  This particular book emphasizes number words so it is a choice that would be super for preK up to 1st grade.  grade level equivalent: 2

This is an awesome Pete the Cat book. This book also has a youtube video that goes along with the book that is great! Good book to use with Kindergarten when learning how to do simple math such as adding and subtracting within 5. Students will love this book.

"Pete The Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons" is a cute story about how Pete keeps loosing his buttons. I would use this for Kindergarten and first grade to introduce subtraction and writing number sentences. This book puts math in a real life setting and shows how to set up subtraction problems as Pet...

In this book Pete keeps losing his buttons. However, Pete keeps his cool and just keeps singing his song. I would implement this book in the classroom when we were talking about math sentences. This book is intended for K,1st and 2nd grade.

I love Pete the cat books, and although I haven't read this book I could easily find some fun activities to go along with it. A coloring activity or a descriptive writing assignment to use with kindergarten- 2nd grade.

Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons is my favorite of the Pete books mainly because the song that goes with it is so catchy. This one is great for early grades because its a great way to mix reading and math as it has a little bit of subtraction as Pete loses each button.
