I'm impressed how Naylor handles difficult topics like molestation in this series.

This is one of the very, very few YA books that I've read that assures the reader that there is nothing wrong with being a sexually curious female, and also that there is nothing wrong with any body type.

Refreshing to read a story geared to young people that shows how sexuality isn't a big deal. Also I LOVED how Alice defended her lesbian friends in front of bullies. We could use more characters like her in all of fiction.

Glad to see a book in which a girl is able to get away from a guy who's hitting on her and making her uncomfortable. Sadly, this is gone the wayside in youth literature. These days, we have the girl falling in love with the creep because he's hot and "so misunderstood".

This one was shorter than I remember these books being. Very light, read it in the span of a couple hours. I plan to review the series as a whole after I finish the other Alice book I have out.

I picked this up as a quick weekend read and at first I wondered why it was on my shelves. But it soon became clear it was an above average teen/'rites of passage' fiction. The language is clear and with a good story that doens't lag, the occasionaly skips in the time line helping to keep it on pace...
