Pitbulls are today being bad mouthed by the media to the extend that people are afraid of the dog breed in all forms and sizes.The reality is that the bully breeds are characterized by their loving, caring nature, their loyalty and their easy nature around children. The last point is another often missed by those who would believe the Pitbull’s reputation as presented by the media; Pitbulls were traditionally considered guard dogs for children, which gave rise to their nickname of ‘The Nanny Dog’. This name better represents the temperament of these wonderful creatures.

About 12-13 years ago when my husband first had the idea of us getting a dog I was thrilled! when he later told me he wanted a pitbull, I coudn't belive my ears... I had such fear for the word pitbull itself.

Today 12 years, 2 pitbulls (Maya 12 years & Bruno 9 years old) and 3 children later, I have nothing but admiration for the loyalty and happiness these dogs have brought us!
