This is sort of a treatise on the butterfly effect on a sociological scale. While the examples used seemed to spread out in all directions, I think that Gladwell was able to keep everything under one theoretical umbrella, with some wrestling. I'd be interested to see if Gladwell's observations tie i...

The author is an incredibly good story teller. He tells us many great stories from the ride of Paul Revere, the resurgent popularity of Hush Puppies, Sesame Street and to the reduction of violence in New York City. He links them all together with the overriding theme of fundamental change (the tippi...

I loved this!!! While Outliers is still my favorite Gladwell book, this one comes in a very close second. It's essentially a discussion about the way popular ideas, fads, products, and behaviors spread. Fascinating.

The Tipping Point, 4 Stars. An excellent read, I did not realize this was 11 years old. Gladwell’s focus is on how a concept tips from an isolated event to a mass-market fad or trend. This book was “panned” in a lot of other reviews I read but I liked it. It was entertaining and had just enough of the information I was look...

I really enjoyed this book. Though it becomes a little repetitive in later chapters, I enjoyed the wide breadth of examples given and the friendly, persuasive writing. Gladwell is a very personable author whose personality comes through his writing. The only criticism I had was that at times it was ...

It is the little things that make big things happen. Sometimes it takes just one well connected person to spread the word.

An interesting book about how fads, social movements, and learning occur. Lots of simple social theory combined with very concrete, specific examples from our current world.
