Bohater wraz ze swoją przyjaciółką wyposażoną w niezwykle zmysłowe uszy o właściwościach paranormalnych (na tym zresztą opiera się absurdalność powieści) przemierza Japonię, spotyka Człowieka-Owcę, przeżywa przygody niczym z filmów Kubricka albo Lyncha.

You can definitely tell this is early Murakami, but it was still great. I'm sitting here with postpartum book depression, wondering what I'm going to do when I run out of Murakami books to read.
