It's a little hard to describe why this didn't click with me, but the dialogue just seemed too scattered and dreamlike and the daughter was a total idiot. Sure, she had brains, supposedly, but she was basically TSTL. Oh, and there was a pet deat...
At first I was a bit disappointed that the dragon of the title was no longer a dragon! But as the story unfolded I was drawn in by the characters. The relationship builds naturally and feels right. An enjoyable read.
The second of the trilogy, Damiano has given his magic to Saara and he is now trying to exist without it, but it comes back to haunt him.
I have loved this series for years and it doesn't lessen it's impact every time I read it. Sweet series of novels involving Damiano a witch from Italy and what happens when his world is consumed by war.
I have really loved RA MacAvoy's writing, starting all the way back with Tea with Black Dragon. The Grey Horse is part of the scenery on the inside of my head, and the Lens series floored me several times. So I was thrilled to see that she is writing again.
