Family’s Prologue Travis Victor Alexander was born July 28, 1977 in Riverside, California. His life was tragically taken June 4, 2008 at the age of 30. Travis lived his life continuously striving to positively affect those around him. Those that knew him can testify to Travis’ larger-than-life personality and big heart. Though he came from humble beginnings, he truly grew into a self made man. He was successful in nearly every aspect of his life, which motivated him to assist others to do the same. In his late twenties he began working on this book in an effort to share the guiding principles of his success with others. As Travis’ surviving siblings, we publish this book to honor him, and to further his goal of aiding others for success in their own endeavors. At the time of the writing of this prologue, the nearly five-month long trial in Arizona has ended with a finding of guilt. We, Travis’ siblings, anticipate the final conclusion of the penalty phase to take place in the near future. We have striven to be present and involved in every aspect of the court proceedings seeking justice for Travis. We are grateful to be able to do so; however, the numerous hardships we continue to endure are immense. We certainly have been strengthened by the outpouring of support from literally all corners of the world. The unsolicited assistance provided by complete strangers has been a much-appreciated blessing to each of us. Our load has been considerably lightened, and we are all eternally grateful to each of you. We miss our dear brother and always stand by him. May we all stand together as we strive for justice. To that end, every sale of this book provides funds to the Travis Victor Alexander Charity for the Survivors of Violent Crime, an organization established to assist survivors and their families with the costs of attending trial away from home. -Travis Alexander’s Sibilings: Gary, Greg, Tanisha, Samantha, Hillary, Steven, and Allie
