Techno-wizard Ray Kurzweil and Lotus founder Mitchell Kapor have a bet. Kurzweil is convinced that by 2029, a computer will be able to pass the Turing Test; that is, be able to imitate humans so convincingly that no interrogator will be able to know if he's conversing with a person or a machine.
