Nobody does characterization like the King. Nobody. I will admit this one started pretty slowly and I enjoyed every minute of it. I can read King characters all day long and never get bored. Hell, he even got a little HP thang going on here. Solid, as always. 4+ Stars!

A slow-burning thriller that make a sudden left turn into WTF territory toward the end. I enjoyed it; it reminded me in parts of The Green Mile. Solid characterizations, which is one reason why I like to read King.

I believe I've mentioned it before, but I haven't read a whole lot of King's newer work, even though that's how I was introduced to him in the first place. I had pretty mixed expectations about this book; almost all of the reviews that I read prior to reading it were raving about it, but at the same...

Not What I Expected, Not What I Wanted, Not What I Look For in A Book. I think I liked it, I never wanted to quit it. So How the heck did I feel about it ? I'm not sure. Frustrating, was what it was. I keep going waiting for the "Boom Boom Out Go the Lights" moments so famous in the King Books I'...

Revival was book molasses for me. It took me forever to get through it. It was a good read, but mostly because it was written by Stephen King. There is something about his writing that just feels so darn right. It's a place I love to be.Unfortunately, my expectations stemmed entirely from this blurb...

Stephen King is a brilliant writer... but he's a dick. This book really screws with your mind and makes you question everything you've ever known or assumed or expected. It's terrifying to even consider!I loved Jamie and I loved his whole story. I can even understand why Charles Jacobs did what he d...

I preface these reviews with Stephen King is my favorite author. I collect all of his books and read them all. I love almost all of his books. This was not one of them. I had high hopes after reading so many good reviews on it. It was supposed to be a classic Stephen King horror story. It was suppos...

Book #1 Sock Poppet's 2015 Read by the Month Challenge This book is not read by Will Patton but I will not hold that against it. Will Patton should read ALL the books but no one asked me. Revival is read by David Morse, recently seen in Joe Hill’s film version of Horns (which you all should see), ...

This is one of those rare examples of King's books that never should have seen the light of day in this form (like The Tommyknockers). It suffers from bloating, uninspired telling of uninteresting facts of not particularly involving characters in the first place. The closest King gets to unsettling ...

King's writing is smooth. It always has been. And now it's leaner, too. This and Doctor Sleep feel streamlined compared to his earlier stuff (not his early stuff). This book seemed like it could have been outlined, plotted even, before King sat down to write, even though King says he doesn't do that...
