Don't get me wrong. The disparate parts were rather good and it seemed decently thought-out. It's just, as a whole, the book sort of fell flat.The alien thing, imo, could have been developed more and been better incorporated into the story. As is, I felt the alien thing was more of an arbitrary plot...

Very enjoyable read. Great writing and I loved the main characters plus the sci-fi storyline. I only wish I could read a bit more about what happens afterwards. :)Recommended!
