The art was an issue for me. It's just not as beautifully executed as the first books. It felt hurried through...Then Jake...Jake, who is the epitome of cool, the deep thinking, quiet type is represented as almost whiny and bitter, talking entirely too much and saying things that just don't work f...

Originally reviewed at Bookwraiths ReviewsI was killing some time at a Barnes & Nobles bookstore the other day and picked this graphic novel up. I’m a sucker for anything dealing with Roland the Gunslinger, especially back story regarding his younger years, so I figured this was a “can’t miss” for ...

I knew this one was going to be a tough read, but I honestly expected most of it to come from the death of Alain. His death, described in just a couple sentences in the books, was a gutpunch - to have come so far with his friends only to be accidentally gunned down by them? But his happened so fast -...

Oh god, this book. This is what I've been waiting for since I started reading the first issue of the first mini.I always knew this could not end well. We know from the books that it ends with the deaths of Roland's family and friends, the destruction of his home and the victory of the villain of the...

This series has finally hit its stride with the third volume. The comedy is ratcheted up a bit even as the stakes spiral higher and higher. Aileen just grabbed the place of favorite character within pages of her introduction and I love love LOVE her.

I'm not exactly sure what I think of the writing style in this, the second comic trade of the Dark Tower issues (the first shared this issue, but it wasn't as obvious).Long story short, there's a LOT of narration going on in this book. Not the characters saying things, but some overarching narrator s...

This book is the ultimate companion piece to Stephen's King 'The Dark Tower' series, listing every person, place and thing of note within the series, describing each item and providing both information from throughout the series on each item (helping straighten up some clues and references) as well ...

I love these graphic novels. And this series translates so beautifully to graphic novel format. I don't know if I feel like this because I'm already so familiar with the original series, but I'm sure that has some part to play in it. Maybe if I wasn't already familiar with the series, there would be...

I enjoy this story for what it is - a little addendum to the Dark Tower series. This adaptation is well done, and I really like the artwork. I like the fact that, this volume at least, seems to have moved away from the jagged, sketchy type art that the previous ones have had. Looking at Roland's fac...
