The second installment of the Amber series continues the saga of Corwin and his path to the throne of Amber. This story continues to flesh out the concept of Amber and the royal family and gives hints (but no answers) on where they get their power to travel in shadows. I look forward to learning mor...

I can't say much that hasn't already been said about this book, both the good and bad. It was a fast-paced enjoyable read. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

I have to say that at first I thought this was a pretty weird story. All I knew when I started reading it was that it was considered a classic and I am a big Zelazny fan, particular the Amber series. The story was hard to get in to at first and the speaking style of the characters took some getting ...

A contest involving iconic horror legends and their pets, told from the point of view of Jack the Rippers dog Snuff. Wha...

Nine Princes in Amber by Roger Zelazny I promise that I don't set out to be unimpressed by the spectacularly popular and beloved books that my GR friends all give five stars. It just sort of happens. All the same, Amber was an enjoyable read. I especially appreciated the games of snark in the be...

Pure, undiluted brilliant fantasy. This novel is truly fantasy at its best, from a deservedly renowned science fiction and fantasy writer. The pace is fantastic, and the writing gripping. Pretty sure I missed my stop on the tube due to reading. Corwin’s amnesia is written well, and his slow awakenin...

Another fine novel by Roger Zelazny, and one that more than makes up for the lowest points of the Amber series. This has been touted as a science fiction classic, but it actually reads like epic fantasy. I was fairly impressed that despite the rather modern-sounding dialogue, Zelazny was able to kee...

I read this as a book last year (review). I had planned to read this series for years and while I liked the book, I remembered very little of it going into the audiobook. After listening to this, I only really remembered the first half of the book. I had no memory of the second part. I had to pick u...
