I suppose this is an absolute must-read for everyone who has ever been to high school. I read it in my fifth year and actually I really couldn't understand what gave this story it's marvelous reputation. May Contain Some Spoilers!Maybe it was more normal in those days, as I'm not the slightest a pro...

The three things I took away from this reading...1. Romeo and Juliet is and reads like an early work of Shakespeare's (whether or not you believe he wrote it), and so the scene executions are occasionally clunky and it lacks the subtly of his later work. 2. Regardless, the story moves you. When two ...

Did anyone think it strange that a 17 year old fell in love with a 12 year old and they basically arranged their marriage in the same night they met....or is that just me?

Romeo & Juliet; Or: How Verona High Society Was Devastated Due To Two Kids Who Couldn't Keep It In Their Pants for 24 Hours. This story is only a tragedy in the sense that, through their stupidity and selfishness, Romeo & Juliet caused others to suffer. When we meet Romeo, he's in the throes of grie...

Yes I read this in high school; no I did not really understand it well. However, the forbidden love, seemingly irrational sacrifice and family conflict themes really are enduring and so true. It really is a great story.
