WOW, what a read! I loved this book, I have never read anything like this. Such an interesting perspective, and gives you huge insight in to the mind of a 5 year old, and how they view this world, and it really opens your eyes!

Someone saw me reading and wanted to save me from the hassle of getting to the end by spoiling it. I think I got as far as the child's first memory of the patterns on the walls or ceiling. Up to that point, it was an uncomfortable read, and I couldn't figure out why that was. And then it was spoil...

I started this but found the narrator irritating. I'll try rereading it some other time.

5 year old Jack and his mom live in a room. As far as Jack is concerned, everything they need is there. And when they want something, they just have to put it on a list and give it to Old Nick and hope he brings it. But things aren't going so well anymore. The heat turns off and Old Nick doesn't...

I was going to be able to renew it online so that wouldn’t be a problem, except what ended up happening was that I waited one day too long ...

This just seemed like the literary version of cloying and had bad Lifetime movie syndrome written all over it.Well, that concern was all for naug...

This is one of my favourite books, especially the first half. It is one of those books that I hated to put down and I found myself reading it through watery eyes most of the time. I would definitely recommend it.

Kristin, I tried REALLY hard with this one because I know you loved it and you wanted me to read it. I couldn't seem to find a plot anywhere. It just seemed like a recitation of daily events. I'd be willing to give it another try if you can give me some hope that an actual plot will emerge. :-)
