This book is a far cry from what I would consider to be horror, but it was a darn good read - well-written with very real characters and characterisations and situations. It felt "real". Only at one point did i find this novel "dated" and that was in the scene where people would be smoking in the co...

January 1, 1994All pregnancies are scary. Some are really, really scary. Probably this should not be read by anyone pregnant or hoping to be in the near future.I want to know what gave Levin the idea. And now I'm keen to read the sequel.Personal copy

My inner monologue while reading "Rosemary's Baby": Don't drink that, Rosemary. Don't wear that, Rosemary. Don't go there, Rosemary. Don't listen to them, Rosemary. Don't. Don't. Don't Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't. AAAAAAARRRRRGGHHHHHHHHH

Having seen the film might taint my judgment and enjoyment of this novel, and certainly cut any factor of suspense. Despite that, I did enjoy the book, partly for it's look at my neighborhood, New York City's Upper West Side, in the mid 1960s. Although in 2010 it's much harder to see witches as evil...

3.5 stars.I picked this book up with half of an intention to read it. It was supposed to be a distraction while I decide what book to read next; I ended up reading this book cover to cover. Rosemary’s Baby is an unsettling story with a sinister plot and even more sinister characters. In short, it’s ...

OMG this book! Peter really liked Stepford Wives & suggested we read this one, by the same author, right after. And, well, it is really captivating. It's been a couple days since we finished and I still find myself thinking about it a lot. The morning we finished reading it I woke up thinking about ...

Maybe the movie ruined this book for me, the movie follows the book almost to the letter. It was a easy read, nothing to complicated, and just like The Stepford Wives complete with a backstabbing husband.

This was excellent pre-Halloween reading to get me in the mood for the upcoming festivities. I'm pretty sure I saw the movie with Mia Farrow when I was a little kid (one of many horror flicks my mom unfortunately let me watch and scar me for life) because several scenes seemed very familiar. I could...

I just could not finish this book. It literally made me angry. It is not that the book is a bad book, it is not at all. It is just that I cannot stand the main character. If I read her apologizing for one more thing I will put my head through a wall. Maybe I will go back to it at some point whe...

I was shocked how much I enjoyed this book. Every time I thought of the movie...which I had never seen either, I had considered it to be one of those cheesy 60's horror flicks that had no substance. This was a really good read. It was fast paced and interesting. My next step may even be to watch the...
