This was a good start to a new series. Sandford has left a lot of room to let this Lucas Davenport grow into a great character. Hopefully the secondary characters are allowed to develope.
great writing; excellent portrayal of the killer in this book; introduction of a wonderful new detective into the genre; If you’re going to read John Sandford, start with this one.
I was really liking novels about serial killers and the brilliant (and privately wealthy) detectives who hunt them. For that, it is perfect. But don't read too many in a row or Davenport will start to gnaw on your nerves.
