I can't quite put my finger on what didn't work for me. At times, I personally have a bit of difficulty reading SE Jakes' books because of the rapidly changing POV in her narratives throws me off a bit - however this one was all first person. The concept and background world building were intriguing...
Kind of... disappointed? I just didn't enjoy it as much as her other books. Maybe because I didn't like Sean at all (but kind of loved Ryker?). I feel overall mixed about it, some parts were great, but I struggled through others.
