My slice of heaven

This book is one of the best 1st books/new series i've ever read. It was very emotional and exciting. I loved reading about Cherijo's adventures and her patients. How the worlds and its inhabitants worked.

Sigh.

I really think the author's started to paint herself into a corner with Cherijo; everything that's proposed to her, she rejects out of hand, without any reference to reason, logic, or even facts. It's really getting frustrating and obnoxious, since I'm sure there are facts there (like Duncan's logic...

Good stuff. Cherijo really continued to grow in this book.

I found Cherijo to be spunky, and the concept novel. Very cool.

I'm one of the few people who likes Jarn more than Cherijo. Cherijo was so confrontational and in your face, not caring how things she said would have implications later. Also her relationship with Duncan did feel like an afterthought sometimes. You could tell she meant everything to him, but lik...

With no memory after she survives, she takes on the persona of the planet's inhabitants. There's also another woman from Earth that I move back and forth trying...

For some stupid reason, I keep thinking this series is going to go downhill and it hasn't. I'm on book #5 and it's still great. Cherijo is on the Jorenian ship with her husband and daughter, who I think has super abilities but I'm not for certain. She and Duncan are working through their marriage...

I loved the medical drama of this book, how Cherijo figured out the puzzles of anatomy of a variety of species and her ability to adapt to situations when they became dangerous in order to fulfill her oath as a doctor. However, her relationship with Kao was severely underdone. They meet once "on scr...

Is it really too much to ask for a woman to be an adventurer, have a relationship with a man and not get knocked up? I know they exist!
