Letter From The Author

In November 2007 Loose Id, LLC contracted my book Santa’s Elf. It was the first, full-length novel I’d ever sold. Better yet, it introduced me to all the wonderful characters that frequent the Diablo Blanco Club. Yeah, some people think authors design stories so they can interweave various plots and characters, but I don’t work that way.

My characters tend to do a lot of the directing (they’re Dom that way) and the first I knew about the Diablo Blanco Club was when Mattie and Bryce showed up at the Kringle Toys Christmas party. Boy, I’m telling you, that was a shocker to me. I’d been playing with Mattie and Bryce’s story for nearly thirty years and not once in all that time did they ever tell me they were into kink.

Since 2007, Loose Id has published six other novels of mine, three of which are part of the Diablo Blanco Club. I have learned so much from the editors and owners and authors at Loose Id, LLC that when I looked at Santa’s Elf again, I realized that Dayton’s story really wasn’t as clear to a reader as it was to me.

So I decided to do the one thing most authors’ and writers’ groups warn new authors not to do — I rewrote it. And as painful and time-consuming as it was, I’m very glad I did.

If you’re new to the Diablo Blanco Club and Santa’s Elf I’d love to hear your opinion on it. And if you’ve read the original, I definitely would like to hear your feedback on this new version.

Rest assured, I ain’t doin’ this again…at least not on Santa’s Elf.
