The premise is great, but the book really doesn't deliver. The characters make a lot of odd, unnatural choices. And the narrating voice is awfully flat. This should have been a suspenseful book, but it just isn't.
The story has a great hook and pulled me in right away. I did not guess what the outcome would be, and I think it got a bit improbable as it went along. But it was a quick read and I enjoyed reading about the locations (upstate NY, Vermont, Ottawa).
