Charlie Grant has grown up in the public eye … kind of. Her mother’s popular comic strip, Grant Central Station, has featured a family very much like the Grants – maybe a little too like them, often depicting things that happened in their real lives … sometimes with disastrous results. So it's no surprise she tries to keep the rest of her life as normal as possible. Hanging out with her best friend, pining for Jesse Foster, who she’s loved since she was twelve and generally flying under the radar as much as she can.

But sometimes normal is just another word for stuck, and this weekend that's all going to change. Not only will everyone be back home for her sister’s wedding, but her mum's final comic strip is running, marked by a big public ceremony. And if that wasn’t enough for a weekend, she’s also juggling:
- a rented dog that just won't stop howling
- the cold snap nobody saw coming for an (outdoor) wedding
- a papergirl with a vendetta
- an unexpectedly hot wedding-coordinator’s nephew
- her favourite brother bringing home his HORRIBLE new girlfriend
- fear that her parents’ marriage is falling apart
- the decision she’s been avoiding on where (or if) she wants to go to college
- and the return to town of the boy she’s loved practically all her life…

Over the course of four days Charlie will learn there's so much more to each member of her family than she imagined, even herself, and that maybe letting go of the things she's been holding on tightest to can help her find what really keeps them together.

Charlie Grant is the youngest in a family of 5 brothers and sisters; she is the only one still living at home. Their mother is a ca...

Such a brilliant read!I thought I was reading a romance, and it was, but it was so much more than that too. It was a family, and their lives. There were moments that felt so raw and real, and moments when I laughed along with them. If this was a movie, it would be one helluva cast of characters. Eac...
