Originally written at Gypsy ReviewsScarlet is a much welcome change and adaptation of Robin Hood, I was delighted by the twists and turns of this novel and the surprises that came along with it. I never expected some of these changes and I was pleased at how well executed it was. Having never been t...

I really loved this. I'll have to re-read for a thorough review because some things were annoying and obvious. But considering I read this in mere hours should mean something. Review to come!

A light and enjoyable read. A bit on the angsty side for me at times, and definitely had a YA/Twilight-ish feel to the storyline. But overall it kept me interested. I liked it enough to keep an eye out for the next books in the series.

4.5 stars. I was so pleasantly surprised when I closed the back cover and the first thought(s) to rush to my head were of Now that's a book. This was a quick read and an awesome retelling of the Robin Hood Legend. Scarlet is one of Robin Hood's band of Merry Men, except that she's really a girl!I liked Scarlet. She was moody, sarcastic and tough. I loved the way she fought with her throwing knives and her martial art like fighting skills...

I really loved the premise behind the book. As there is little to no historical information available about the origins of the Robin Hood myth, there’s no reason Scarlet couldn’t actually have been a woman. Plus I’m always in favor of seeing fairy tales re-cast with strong female leads. It’s just su...

A.C. Gaughen- Author's note in Scarlet:To me, true love is about finding someone who not only sees and accepts your demons but also is willing to step up and fight them when you stumble.

Sometimes a little adventure is all a reader really needs. This was a fun read, offering yet another version of Robin and his band of merry men. And it’s Scarlet who makes most of that difference, being a woman and all! Not only that, she also happens have this dark secret past she’s keeping from th...
