Reading this book is a little bit like watching Ellen on television; she writes, about anything and everything. I read this book and heard her voice. The book is somewhat funny -- chuckle funny -- more so in some places than others. I would describe the nature / tone of the book as 'frivolous drivel...
While I enjoy Ellen on her tv show, I found this book a bit disappointing, especially since I had just listened to Tina Fey's Bossypants and enjoyed it very much. Ellen's book lacked the substance of Bossybants, and while it made me smile a few times, it didn't make me laugh the way Bossypants did.
This book didn't solve world hunger or achieve world peace but, I laughed out loud so many times, I lost count. I had the opportunity to listen on audio, so I had the added benefit of hearing Ellen's voice reading her words which I think lent to how much I enjoyed this book. She's so quirky, but s...
This was really odd. I'm not sure what I expected but it wasn't this completely weird grouping of rambles. Some of the chapters made absolutely no sense and were not funny, though I think they were supposed to be. Other chapters, I think the goal was to inspire and uplift in a slightly humurous way....
I LOVE Ellen!!! I'm just going to give her an "A" for effort and because she is such a positive role model, well, I am NOT going to critique this book with negativity. The one downfall, and the reason I gave it three stars, is that I found reading her jokes made me wish that I had gotten the audi...
3 starsIt was a good read. I enjoyed some of chapters, some others I didn't. I had to imagine Ellen's voice whilst reading so that my reading turned into something at least a bit interesting and funny. By the way, I liked the tips, they're the best. Read on your own peril.

Wow....am I ever glad I found this book at a charity shop and only forked out $2 opposed to the cover price of $30!! It was an extremely short, easy read. My best advice is to borrow the book from a friend or library....the cost of this book can only be classed as a "cash grab".The book was of cours...
