Settledness takes place when we come home to God the Father, receive abundant life from Jesus, then turn around, and give this life away in our own unique way empowered by the Holy Spirit. Thanks for joining me in a conversation about settledness. Settledness is a term I use to describe a place or condition God the Father wants each of His children to live in. My definition for settledness is this: being at home with the Father and with myself. In this chaos-filled world where we find ourselves, the Father has a solution for the confusion. He wants us to live in settledness. The whole idea behind our spending time together in this book is to give you hope and peace. Discovering the settledness you seek is not as hard as you might think, even with the world’s system dead set against you finding it. Settledness is not hard to find. All that is required for the seeker is to put into action the three following steps. First, as a member of the Father’s family, believe that you have been placed on earth for a purpose that only you were meant to accomplish. Second, establish a willingness to live a new life by setting things aside that prevent settledness. I call these things poverty. Third, you need to receive courage and persistence to follow the Father’s path for you. What will settledness look like for you? I don’t know. What I do know is that each one of our lives can be like a lavish feast. A grand meal requires many ingredients to make it special. That is what settledness looks like. A part of settledness involves our giving to others. Each one of us contains many rich (unique to you only) delicacies that are made to be given out to others. We take part in the feast when those responding to the delicacies that we give out, in turn, share the unique delicacies from their lives as well. It is a community potluck. Everyone has something to bring and share. Poverty wants to restrict the flow of these delicacies and prevent them from ever making their way to others. Instead of enjoying rich feasts, we choose alternate strategies. These feast strategies look just as good as the real thing, but have little to no substance. These strategies never fully satisfy, whereas the feast of settledness goes far beyond just being satisfying — it brings life. Come on a journey of discovering settledness for yourself.
