I liked the story overall and it was actually very well written.I just don't like a romance that just cannot be in the future (since Logan is DEAD). And I like books that make me feel good. This book just made me feel sad all the time. I felt like my boyfriend just died...So the concept was a good o...
This book should have gotten 4 stars, but alas only 3.5. It has original world, described with wide strokes. 0.5 minus for perfect Zachary. I hate this sort of perfection- without any flaws - funny, kind, patient and perfect..ugh - to the point of unreal. I felt the mutual attraction between Aura an...
Gather 'round, children, to hear the tale of "The Ghost Who Couldn't Get It Up". Intrigued? Of course you are.In Baltimore, teenage Irish-flavoured punk-rock band the Keeley Brothers has interest from two record companies. After playing a showcase, the band parties up big time, downing plenty of bee...
Wow. I think that’s the best way to describe how I feel about ‘Shade’. I love the concept of 'Shade'. It's a fantastic mix of hauntingly-spooky moments (as to be expected when ghosts are involved) and sweet tragic-romance that leaves you tingling. Add to that the mystery of the Shift and you’ve go...
Shade is beautifully written and it is so emotional. Ms. Smith-Ready really managed to write her characters in such a way that I feel for them and with them, and want the best for them, even if what two characters want conflict. That takes some real talent. I didn't really know what to expect goi...
Shade was an emotional read, but a really good one. I should have expected it. I mean the book is about teenage love that ends in death. There had to be tears, right? Well unless you are totally unemotional, there will be tears. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, I’ll move on with the review....
While I wasn't so much a fan of Logan (more on that later), I really liked the idea of this book. Something I hadn't quite read before and done in a way that makes me want to know more. If I can I'd like to get a review up for this sometime in the week.
This one really had me twisted because there are some things I really loved and others I wasn't crazy about. I loved the premise and the location. I'm from Maryland so it was fun to read a book with settings that I recognized. I thought the concept of the "shift" was really creative. The idea that ...
Original review: http://onabookbender.com/2011/10/10/review-shade-by-jeri-smith-ready/The world that Jeri Smith-Ready has built in this series is what most drew me into Shade. We learn some information about the Shift, and the Aura is attempting to learn more. We are introduced to ghosts and how t...
Isn't this the book with the male character that had Jace (from TMI) competing hard for the title in the YA-Sisterhood crush tournament?I'm going to read it.
