Didn't enjoy it as much as the author's Sookie series, but liked it enough to carry on with reading the rest of the books in the series.

Took me about half the book to warm to Lily (or really give a monkey's cuss about the story), but enjoyed it very much by the end.

The only Charlaine Harris books I've read are her Harper Connolly books. There are four of those and I really, really enjoyed them. Very enjoyable first in the series about a young woman in a small Southern town. A bit darker than I suspected from the cover.

This was a really fun book. The first few chapters can seem confusing, but after you get the real story of what happened to Lil it all makes sense. Very good first book. Will try the rest of the series.

This was my first Charlaine Harris non-paranormal mystery. I really enjoy her dry sense-of-humor in the Sookie books and this one was written the same. Lily Bard is a wounded soul that has a horrible past that she keeps trying to keep secret. She has lived in Shakespeare, working as a maid, for 4 ye...

This was a good start to the Lily Bard Mystery series. This is Harris's second cozy mystery series, so at first I was afraid it'd be too similar to the Aurora Teagarden series, but that isn't the case at all.In this first book of the series, we're introduced to Lily Bard, who's moved to Shakespeare...
