Nice short stories, enough to provide my Dresden Files fix after finishing all the novels.I had already read "Aftermath" before going on to "Ghost Story", thinking it would be some kind of a prelude. And it was, in a way, but it was a disappointment. My favorite of the bunch was "Day Off".

This collection of Dresden short stories was kicky and fun. They are all prefaced with an introduction that lets you know what anthology they were written for, which books they come between/before/after, and generally the motivation or theme associated with it. There are funny and serious storie...

Excellent collection of short stories! It definitely filled in some gaps that I wondered about reading through the series. I loved the ones that were from views other than Harry's. I'm voting for a Molly POV next. What struck me in reading these novellas is Harry's sentimental side. It's another fac...

They (mostly) revolve around a man named Harry Dresden, who is a wizard private investigator. The style is mostly comed...

Side Jobs reminded me why I don't usually do anthologies. Short stories generally aren't my preferred format, but also because I don't often find the stories coming across naturally. Many of the ones in this book were written to form around a theme, not to really further the characters or the overal...

I've only read the first three books of the Dresden Files - I intend to continue the series on Audio as I've heard James Marsters does an excellent job. However, I still really enjoyed this anthology of short stories and novellas. Jim Butcher does an excellent job of introducing each story and the s...
